The MaXLabs purpose is to conduct experiments, which explore the manner of human decision making.
History
The “Magdeburger Experimentallabor für Wirtschaftsforschung” (Magdeburg Experimental Laboratory of Economic Research) (MaXLab) was established in 1998/99 with the financial aid of the “German Research Foundation” (DFG). The lab was further expanded in 2002 and again in 2010 and is now one of the most modern and best equipped labs in Europe.
Equipment
The MaxLab is comprised of over 30 separate work stations, which include 9 sound proof cabins. The laboratory’s hardware is modern and up to state of the art technical standards and the system’s control software belongs to the best in Germany.
General information
The experimental exploration into economic behavior started in the early 1960s and has profoundly embedded itself in economic science to this day. With the help of these experimental methods we cannot only check the validity of economic theories, the research also helps to build a foundation for new economic behavioral models.
